السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته

How it all began

My name is Fahmina Jawed. I started Islam Hashtag in 2015 with the intention of saving the pearl of ilm that I learnt when I started taking Islamic courses. I had just one Hadith in my mind :

“Convey from me, even if it is one verse.” – Prophet Muhammad ﷺ

Today, that little blog- Islamhashtag has grown into 10 years of work and over 11 million views. Every visit feels like a warm knock on my door, a reminder that words—no matter how small—can travel far when Allāh puts barakah in them

What I do now

      • Teach Qur’ān & Tafsīr in English, Hindi, and Urdu—free for sisters and children.

      • Create worksheets, e‑books, and study tools so learning stays fun and easy.

      • Write eye‑health guides for my Facebook family of 10,000 optometrists, because saving sight with knowledge is still part of my mission.

      • Run four websites (two Islamic, two optometry) completely on my own—design, coding, editing, everything.

I left my optometry clinic years ago; serving patients meant daily contact with non‑maḥram men, so I chose a path that feels safer for my heart. Now I use my medical background to write clear, helpful articles.

    Educational Qualification

    جَزَاكَ ٱللَّٰهُ خَيْرًا Allah kahir

Because many sisters ask, here is a simple list of my studies—both Islamic and academic.

    Classical Islamic Studies

        • Completed ʿĀlimiyyah (Hanafi Fiqh track from Maryam Institute and Zaynab Institute (6 years each ) through dedicated study under respected teachers.

        • Studied and reviewed core texts including: Tafsīr of Qur’anRiyāḍ al‑ṢāliḥīnMishkāt al‑MaṣābīḥṢaḥīḥ al‑BukhārīṢaḥīḥ MuslimJāmiʿ al‑TirmidhīSunan Abī Dāwūd, and others.(Read about my projects )

        • Further coursework in Usūl al‑ShāshīBalāgha, and Sirājī (Islamic law of inheritance)—foundation subjects that build depth in fiqh and understanding.

        • Continued learning through teaching—because when you teach, you relearn with humility.

      Arabic & Qur’anic Recitation

          • Second‑year student in a Master’s program in Arabic.

          • Ongoing study in Qirāʾāt to strengthen recitation and pronunciation of Qur’an across canonical modes.

        Academic / Professional (Health Sciences)

            • Bachelor in Optometry.

            • PGD in Hospital Administration.

          How Everything Is Funded

There is no sponsor. No organization pays the bills.

I fund IslamHashtag from my own pocket money.

Hosting, domains, premium plugins, software, course platforms, email tools, digital art licenses—all of it is personally funded. I stretch each riyal the way a mother stretches dough—hoping to feed more souls with fewer resources. When you see a new tool on the site, know that it likely cost a skipped coffee, a late‑night bargain, or an extra freelancing gig.

          Why I keep going

              • Maryam—my bright, curious daughter. Her tiny voice asking, “Mama, is this for the Ummah?” energizes me more than any caffeine.

              • My students—women who wake at dawn to join Tafsīr, kids who smile when they learn something new.

              • You—everyone who clicks, reads, shares, or whispers a du‘ā’. Your support feels like a hug across the screen.

            How you can help

                1. Share – Tell one friend, post one link, forward one worksheet. Your word of mouth is priceless.

                1. Purchase – Buy a printable, a course, or an e‑book. Each sale pays for hosting, new projects, and our Qur’ān‑for‑seekers donation drive.

                1. Pray – A quiet du‘ā’ that Allāh accepts this work means more than any headline.

              A final note

Some nights the code breaks, the bills pile up, and the books feel heavy. Yet I remember a hadeeth that says the most beloved deeds are the steady ones, even if they are small. So I take a deep breath, whisper “Bismillāh,” and start again.

If any page here brings you closer to Allāh, then every sacrifice is worth it. May our shared learning become ṣadaqah jāriyah—a stream of rewards that flows long after our fingers have stopped typing.

Thank you for walking this path with me.
May Allāh guide us, forgive us, and fill our lives with light. Āmīn.
